Release notes
This is bottleapi.com, the front door for the Bottle API. Every user-visible change gets a line here, in the same commit that makes the change. Newest release first.
Bottle API landing page
1.6.2 - 2026-10-13
- The products are named the way they name themselves: Aqua Botany is two words and PocketQuant is one. The line introducing them spelled both differently from the logos directly beneath it.
- That line now says the Bottle Blue LLC lineup.
1.6.1 - 2026-10-13
- The browser tab title and the preview shown when the page is shared now read 281 endpoints, matching the figure on the page itself. They were left at the previous number.
1.6.0 - 2026-10-13
- The Custom plan now sits in a band of its own beneath the four priced plans instead of in a column beside them. It was being left stranded on a line by itself at most screen sizes, and it is not a plan you buy in the same way, so it now reads as the invitation it is.
- The priced plans keep every row full as the window narrows, going from four across to two across to one. Enterprise used to end up alone on a second row at some sizes.
- The endpoint count in the header now reads 281, after two new labor market endpoints were documented in the API reference.
- The market and government data card mentions H-1B filings and WARN layoff notices, both available in beta.
1.5.0 - 2026-10-08
- Enterprise is now a plan you can buy, at $299 a month or $2,990 a year.
- The Enterprise card sets out what the plan includes: 100,000 requests every day and 1,000 a minute, bulk access, caching and mirroring, and API access for your own users.
- A new Custom plan sits above Enterprise, for volume and rate limits beyond it, priced to your usage and agreed in writing. That is where to start if Enterprise is not big enough.
1.4.3 - 2026-10-02
- The plan descriptions a search engine reads now match the cards on the page. They were still describing the plans in requests per month, and listing two Pro features that do not exist, after the cards themselves had been corrected.
1.4.2 - 2026-10-02
- The note below the pricing cards now sits clear of them, centred on a comfortable reading width. It used to run the full width of the page and sat right up against the bottom of the last card, which made it read as part of that card rather than as a note about all four plans.
1.4.1 - 2026-10-02
- The Enterprise card now names what Enterprise is for in plain terms: bulk access, caching and mirroring, and providing API access to your own users. It previously said "downstream redistribution by agreement", which was too vague to tell whether it covered your case.
1.4.0 - 2026-10-02
- The pricing cards now lead with the limits that actually apply: requests per day and per minute. Your allowance refills every day, so a busy day never costs you the rest of the month.
- Hobby and Pro both unlock every data endpoint. They differ by rate and volume, and the cards now say so plainly.
- Enterprise now states what it is for: bulk access, caching rights, custom volume and rate, and providing API access to your own users.
- Commercial use is spelled out on the paid plans. Building a product on the API, charging for it and serving your own paying subscribers are all included.
- Links to the published rate limits and the attribution requirement, so you can read both before you buy.
1.3.0 - 2026-09-27
- The example beside the headline now types the command out and then shows what came back, so you can watch a request being made rather than being handed a finished one.
- That panel no longer changes size as it moves between examples. It had been growing and shrinking every few seconds, which nudged the rest of the page each time.
- The example commands are written across two lines now, the way you would type them yourself. They used to run onto a second row wherever they happened to reach the edge, which could split an option in half and read as a mistake.
- A reply now sits directly under the command that asked for it, instead of floating well below it.
- Shows better examples. The panel used to open on a health check returning "ok" and close on the phase of the moon, which told you very little about what is here. It now shows trending tickers, an air quality reading and a named wildfire.
- Fixes a long line in one example that folded onto a second row and read as broken data.
1.2.1 - 2026-09-26
- You can now jump straight to the page content from the keyboard. Press Tab when the page opens and the first thing offered is a link that skips the menu.
- The page fonts start loading sooner, so the headline settles a moment earlier on a slow connection.
- Fixed the preview card some apps show when the page is shared over a secure link.
1.2.0 - 2026-09-24
- The newsletter signup has moved out of the footer into its own section just above it, so it is easier to find and easier to read.
1.1.1 - 2026-09-23
- The message shown after signing up no longer asks you to confirm. Nothing needs confirming: a welcome email simply arrives.
1.1.0 - 2026-09-23
- You can now sign up for the Bottle Blue newsletter from the footer, and on some pages from a small prompt that appears once and stays dismissed if you close it. Occasional updates about what we are building. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe.
1.0.0 - 2026-09-20
- This site is out of beta. It has been the live front door for the Bottle API for some time, and the version in the footer should say so.
1.0.0-beta.7 - 2026-09-19
- Corrects the Bottle API version shown in the footer. It read 1.1.0 for under an hour; the correct number is 1.0.1, because that release fixed behaviour rather than adding any.
1.0.0-beta.6 - 2026-09-19
- The footer shows the new Bottle API version.
1.0.0-beta.5 - 2026-09-19
- The footer now shows two versions instead of three: the Bottle API, and this site. The data pipeline build has its own home on the docs site.
- The Bottle Blue mark in the hero badge and the "Powering" row is the company's new one, and it is now drawn rather than a picture, so it stays sharp at any size.
1.0.0-beta.4 - 2026-09-17
- The product logos in the "Powering" row are evened out. They were sized by height alone, so a wide logo came out twice the width of a square one, and marks with more space built into them looked half the size of the rest.
- The closing "Ready to build?" section drops its illustration, so the page ends on the ask rather than on a picture.
1.0.0-beta.3 - 2026-09-17
- Aqua Botany's logo in the "Powering" row is the product's new mark. It was the only dark logo in a row of light ones, and it rendered at half the width of the rest.
1.0.0-beta.2 - 2026-09-16
- You can now find us on LinkedIn, X, Instagram and Bluesky. The links sit in the footer.
1.0.0-beta.1 - 2026-09-16
- First versioned build. The page has been live for months; everything below was already shipped and is listed here so the history starts somewhere honest.
- What the API covers, a first call you can copy and run, the live endpoint count, and the plans, on one page.
- Copyable request examples in curl, Python and JavaScript, with the response each one returns.
- A launcher in the header for moving between the Bottle Blue apps.
- The whole page is now in what the server sends, so it reads without JavaScript and can be found in a search engine. It used to render nothing at all to anything that did not run scripts.
- Layout fixes for small screens, including tap targets that were too small to hit reliably.
- The footer shows which build you are on, along with the versions of the API and the data pipeline behind it, and links to this page.
